Today we have Can Kurt, the founder of Ubden® and a professional in the field of artificial intelligence and blockchain software, with us.
Hello, thank you for accepting our invitation. Could you briefly tell us about your life before you started production in the software and cryptocurrency field?
Hello, I thank you. I have been residing in Çerkezköy, Tekirdağ since 1998. In 2008, I got acquainted with web programming and the software industry, both out of curiosity and to meet my own needs. Within a year, I found myself immersed in this industry. In 2017, along with a partner, we founded Dexter Bilişim, operating under various brand and company names. Up until this year, the structure continued professionally, and now we are solely operating as Ubden Technology. In addition to our own company, I also serve as an Information Technology Manager in a private firm.
As far as we know, you are currently working on a bot in the cryptocurrency field. How did the idea for the bot come about and how has it progressed?
Years ago, in 2012-2013, I first encountered cryptocurrency, knowing only its name and existence, thanks to industry colleagues. Back then, the only thing I knew was mining, which meant mining Bitcoins, Ethereum, etc. At that time, we were mining just to understand the mining system on our own scale. It also brought in a small return. After joining the company this year (2019), we, including Emrah Bey (Emrah Eryılmaz), who is currently at Startup Trakya, saw another commercial aspect of the business. Through stock exchange, cryptocurrency trading, etc., Emrah Bey, who had become tired of all these sudden ups and downs in the market, mentioned an auto-bot project. It’s a bot that works with artificial intelligence and algorithms capable of technical analysis and trading without the emotions associated with buying and selling. The project is fantastic, and I really liked it. Both as a developer and a user, it drew me in, to be honest, and I wanted to be a part of it without any hesitation, especially with Emrah Bey, who has extensive experience in the stock market. Because there is no equivalent, neither domestically nor internationally, and it’s a project that is highly talked about, just like what we are doing.
I was involved in the algorithm and intelligence structure, the frontend which is the door opened to the user, the user interface, graphic valuation screens, and I personally participated in the tests. I shared surprising profit and report analyses at Startup Trakya at certain intervals, some might know. Currently, CryptoTradeBot, which has a closed-beta interface, will soon be accessible to users through an open beta.
Could you tell us about the functions of your product and how it benefits in Bitcoin trading?
Currently, the system only operates on bittrex.com and is completely automatic. In short, it places buy orders for altcoins it deems suitable in the crypto market on your behalf. It then puts the coins it acquires up for sale with small profits based on technical analysis and market commentary. It has no emotions, no fatigue, and no careless human errors. You are leaving your investment to software with artificial intelligence capable of providing small but stable profits. I recommend readers to take a look at our website. Frequently asked questions, technical details related to the logic, and a short video are currently available on our site. You can also see the current movements from here. Our product has been under testing for an average of 90 days. Our profitability ranges from 50-60% depending on the market. As you know, Bitcoin’s sudden ups and downs during this period have exceeded 200% 🙂 (Those who want to see the current rates in detail can check our website.)
What is the roadmap for CryptoTradeBot?
Our primary goal is to increase the number of integrated stock markets. We also plan to integrate with exchanges like Binance, etc., and allow the user to choose which exchange they want to trade on. There is also a lack of marketing at the moment, I can say. Since the team is entirely technical, I’ll also make a call here for those who can support us in marketing. Since our product is in the beta stage, we need closed-beta users to go through this testing process correctly. We can provide access to our product for those who want to try it out without any commission. You can send a tester request through the http://ubden.com/contact address and get the details.
Who knows, maybe by this time next year, we might become a well-known startup with a sudden breakthrough.
You produce in Çerkezköy, a city with factories. Could you tell us about the advantages and disadvantages of creating a venture in the field of software in this city?
Çerkezköy is a very large ecosystem. I’m not saying this just to generalize; it really is large. Not only are there factories, but SMEs are also just as open to development. As an example, the current trend in Çerkezköy’s SMEs is e-commerce, while the trend in factories is Industry 4.0. It was actually on the agenda a long time ago, yes, but it suddenly shone in this ecosystem and now it can’t keep up with the demands. We take special pride in providing support to companies that both manufacture and export. Our hope is that their numbers will increase every day. I’m not saying these things as clichés. As Prof. Dr. Özgür Demirtaş says, “One cannot be national without being universal.” We can’t live by thinking only about today. I’m married, maybe my children will be involved in this ecosystem, so my thinking must be universal! I have young friends trying to do business very close to me, but they only think about today, they want to get by day by day, and the results are negative both financially and spiritually. We need to be open to innovation. Okay, everyone needs financial means, but at least we can change our system by communicating correctly with each other using some tools; especially for SMEs, I recommend using software like “Decidehub,” “Trello,” and Slack.
Are there any disadvantages to producing software in this ecosystem? Actually, there is no disadvantage to development, but the ecosystem is very old and has its difficulties. In other words, there are companies here that have been around for 25-30-40 years, and even though they need development desperately, there is a fear that comes from being accustomed. It’s hard to dare for something new. We have memories of telling a company that has been keeping track of production for 20 years with pen and paper that the cost of a tablet software they can use for production tracking is equivalent to the paper expenses spent in 2 months 🙂 These are the simplest examples. We offer dozens of solutions from CRM to ERP, from IoT to M2M, and once someone starts using them, they can’t give them up, nor can they. And it’s important for them to have the courage to try these solutions they haven’t used before.
How do you manage your company?
This is a question with a beautiful answer. We manage it with a system that I’m excitedly waiting for all team-based companies to adopt in the future. DECIDEHUB. In fact, the system manages us, and this is something entirely different. I came across Decidehub in early 2018. (I also take pride in the fact that it’s a domestic system.) We brought this system, developed by Kadir Köymen’s Edelkrone team, to end-to-end management with a few small touches specific to our industry. Because it’s extraordinary, and its logic and operation are equally beautiful.
In this system, everyone has a say, and no one knows the influence of their say on the system; this influence is determined by other team members. So, Ubden is a legal entity, but it also turns into a decision-maker and a real person. This may seem utopian, there will be traditionalists who say it’s not for us, etc. But the functioning of the structure is based on collective intelligence, so it’s almost impossible for an unpopular decision to emerge.
Actually, I can describe the taste of an orange you’ve never tasted by writing thousands of pages, but you’ll only understand the real taste after you’ve eaten the orange. I can say, help yourself to a slice.
Thank you, Can Kurt, for this wonderful interview. We look forward to meeting again soon.
